The elastic springy sole cushions the step on any surface and allows the prosthetic foot to gently roll off. This in turn saves a lot of power and reduces the load on the residual limb in the socket. The hip and the back are also relieved, which in the long run means a clear plus in quality of life.
Amputees have enormous requirements concerning the characteristics of their shoes. Already at the beginning of a rehabilitation measure, the correct shoe has significant effects on the later gait pattern. This is where kybun, with its trampoline effect, differs from all other shoe manufacturers on the market. If the amputee struggles with normal shoes to roll over the heel, the kybun shoe supports the natural rolling movement.
The former competitive athlete Jürgen Zeller lost both his legs in a serious motorcycle accident on 11th September 1983.
